East Lothian based Musselburgh Museum charts the history of the ‘Honest Toun’. Their web presence was minimal but there was a strong desire to increase their online activity. The site is designed to appeal primarily to potential visitors to the museum providing visitor information, but also to showcase current and future exhibitions and allow the museum to highlight supplemental content that physically cannot be displayed in the museum.
The site is built using the WordPress content management system which allows museum staff to easily manage and add new content.
Keen to get a return on their investment in terms of content generation, analytics played a part in this project, with site activity being monitored as a means to determine future areas of content to concentrate on.
